Celebrate your hamster's birthday the right way! (do not use candles or any other inflamed object on the cake)

Ingredients

2 small lettuce leaves
1 thin slice of apple
1 baby carrot, sliced
3-5 pieces of small animal treats (the treats must be small in size. I recommend using Kaytee Nutra Puffs, Kaytee Tropical Mix, or a type of Yogurt Drop)
5 sunflower seeds or other seeds from your small animal's daily food

How To

1- Start with one small lettuce leaf as your base. Put your Tropical Mix, Nutra Puffs, and/or Yogurt Drops (available at Petco) in the lettuce leaf.
2- Layer the second lettuce leaf on top of the prviously added treats, then layer the apple and carrot on top of that leaf.
3- Sprinkle seeds on top of the apple and carrot layer. Place in your hamsters cage, and watch him/her devour it's layer cake! Compliments to the chef! :)

Don't give this cake to your small pet very often. Too many treats can indeed make your pet sick. Feed your small pet this layer cake only as a reward for excellent behavior (no more than once a month with seldom treats in between)!

Your hamster won't eat the whole thing at once (their stomachs are very small) so make sure you remove the vegetables that your hamster doesn't eat the next day so they don't rot.
