About HammieLand

HammieLand was established on June 1, 2002. It was created to show my love for hamsters in hamster-themed layouts and content. One of the main things I try to show with my layouts (besides hammies!) is organization. I hate sites with navigation that's different on every page or that's just plain confusing. Misleading links, no back buttons, banner ads/pop-up ads, lots of blinking/animated images, no updates, and confusing/hard to read text is all very annoying to me. I like organized, easy, and simple. HammieLand is focused more on new content than new layouts, as some can probably tell. I hate sites that only have 5 subpages that are all useless and messy. I chose to buy a domain because I was very frustrated with freehosts like AngelFire and Geocities, mainly because of the banner ads and pop-up ads, but also because I wanted to expand more. I was willing to pay any price to be my own host, where I could control everything about my site. I bought my domain from here for only 1 start-up fee and a small renewal fee every year. I try to keep HammieLand updated as much as possible to keep visitors coming back for more!

HammieLand has changed a lot for how few layouts I've had. But as I said, content is more important than layouts to me. Visit Past Layouts for descriptions and pictures.

HammieLand is dedicated to my wonderful dwarf hamster Blueberry. I began my website interests in 1999. My first site was Hamsters Unlimited. I began my hamster interests in 1995. I first discovered dwarf hamsters at the county fair. My first hamster was Simon Murphy, a Siberian dwarf. I plan to keep HammieLand up and running for many years to come.
